Good build man. This bike shows a couple of important things. First, you need a seat post rack like he has if you want to use full suspension. Second, the rear-mounted motor is an excellent choice because it's 'stealthier' and the rear dropouts can handle the torque of the motor. For a given motor, the voltage will usually determine your top speed. That's why he has 52 V. The range is determined by the battery energy (V x Ah = Wh). You can figure about 15-30 Wh/mile. He claims ~21. :)
I also liked that he pointed out the necessity of disc brakes. All that weight in the back would make for some thrilling stops from high speed i must say.
the bag at the back of the bike looks shitty. This bike is heavy - dont listen to that guy! That bicycle has over 14kg without motor and battery! I am working on a 8kg Bike with 1200W Cyclone Motor right now ;-)
Get a bike Bikes At Work trailer. I can haul a 30 lb cat litter, 10 lb bag of dog an cat, 2 20 lb bags of potatoes, a 24 pack of water, a book shelf, few pack of hamburger, 4 gallons of milk, few loafs of bread, lots of cans of veggies and a flat screen monitor. With my 30AH 48 lifepo4 batteries and Crystalyte 5304 I can haul my 300lb butt and groceries 20 miles round trip with plenty of battery juice to spare! Take that all you nay sayers about ebikes!
