The GigaPanBot is a self made programmable motorized pan and tilt head capable of shooting large gigapixel panoramas. In this video I demonstrate the usage of the pan head with a heavy Canon camera.
Total weight of the Canon EOS 1D with the 35-350 mm lens is around 3.2 Kg.

  • Very nice and sturdy!

Are you logging shot-angles so you can use it with panoramic software?

  • Yes the controller is aware of the shot angle and the data can be logged via the serial interface to a file on a connected PC.

  • The main feature of the device is to move a camera but if there is a need to kick a football, I'm sure I can program it ;-)
