@limex2k When I do shark fishing (mostly for smaller sharks), 6 foot of leader material between a sinker and hunk of cut bait just isn't castable, no matter how long your rod is. The only way to get your bait where you want it is to take it there.

The safest way to do it is with a kayak. I generally fish close enough to shore that I just walk it out and lob it an extra 15-20 feet.

I don't personally recommend walking where you KNOW that sharks are with bait in the water for safety.

WHY do people feel the need to catch sharks? I dont get it and it pisses me off. Unless you are a scientist doing boat catch tag and release then leave them alone!!!

Dont drag them to the shore to make you feel like a "man"!
