  • Mutations are most devastating when the cell undergoes mitosis, or multiplies.

    When an arthropod undergoes Ecdysis, which is a molting of its shell: its cells will multiply much faster and happen all over the body. Cockroaches spend 1/4 of their time in this stage.

    So at the very least 1/4 of all cockroaches would die out right away, the rest would die later.

    All of this of course is assuming cockroaches could actually surive any radiation. They can't. Its a myth. Cockroaches are wimps.
