@squashbucket70 Are you really going to use the Beatles as an example of why you DON'T need drugs to make good music... Also where have i ever definitively said "drugs are necessary for making good music", this has never been my position nor is it now... My point has been and remains (while it may not have been made clear) that mind altering substances allow musicians to explore music in ways they otherwise wouldn't have, which has been demonstrated to varying degrees of success by the 70's...

@lanklan I'm not bashing on mind-altering substances man, but look at the Beatles dude. George Harrison is a fucking musical genious, and the guy tried tripping acid, hated it, and never did it again. After not using acid, he still put out mindblowing music. You don't NEED drugs to make great music man.

@quichcoupon Q: "what does it have to do with their beautiful music?" A: EVERYTHING!!! Their music wouldn't be how it is without the aid of mind enhancing substances. I'm not saying drugs are the prerequisite for musical genuis, but without them i doubt much of that genuis would have been realised... Miles Seaton used to deal acid from when he was 13 til he was 20, so acid was formative in the genuis of Akron/Family regardless of whether they still do it or not (i dont know)... Bong on!

@lanklan Maybe, Im not saying there is anything wrong with smoking, but not everybody smokes... maybe they do maybe they dont... what does it have to do with their beautiful music? Nothing... just because this seems like stoner music to you doesn't mean it is represented like that to everybody

@quichcoupon true you dont need too, but why wouldn't you... I'm pretty sure Akron/Family would share this sentiment

@lanklan you dont need to smoke up to make or hear something beautiful...
i listened to this song with a 55 year old hardcore hippie and he was laughing and having the best time ever chanting "love and space" over and over again. its a really relaxing mantra actually...

i have never seen a band make a connection with the audience the way akron/family did. without doubt the greatest band i know, i am a devout follower of everything they create.
