@MaskedMan66 -ology-doesn't just mean the scientific study of. It also means simply "the study of". It pertains to any knowledge field of study, not just science. So the suffix -ology- appearing behind a word doesn't render that word scientific. vexillology-study of flags, timbrology-study of postage stamps, thaumatology -study of miracles, tegestology-study of collecting of beer mats, demonology-study of demons....,

@MaskedMan66. Rikeerdodger is absolutely right. Science is a limited enterprise, it deals with natural, materialistic phenomenon and has no means to evaluate things outside of its field. What can science tell us about aesthetics, or morality? Science is no more usefull in art and other subjects than poetry is in astronomy.

@clearly you have "clearly" (pun intended) never read Lewis. If you had you would realize that the little part of the story that you told was simply the end of his journey. The times prior were chalked full of intellectual angst and discussions with his professorial associates. Btw before you criticize my spelling you ought to re-read your own post.

So this is the true voice of Treebeard. Tolkien and Lewis were good friends, and J.R.R.Tolkien based the amazing Ent, voiced by Gimli's actor, on this man,

This is one of the most compelling concepts of acknowledging a god and how he works I have encountered.

I've read the first one, I might read the other two if I find them.

Not "The lone surviving reel of audio with Lewis's voice on it". His recording of "The Four Loves" -- an audio version briefer than the book, requested by an American church org. in the 1950s -- survives on CD.

Wow . . . Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and That Hideous Strength; I thought I was the only man alive today who'd read--and loved--them. Thanks for the reference. I feel more like a human, safe within the herd, now.

True, true! And indeed, Lewis based his hero of the Space Trilogy, Elwin Ransom, on Tolkien.

Thank you so much for this upload! Hearing the voice of my hero CS Lewis on tape like this was an indescribable experience, and I'm sitting here with trembling hands, dry throat and pounding heart. Thank you so much.

What I meant is, the voice of C.S. Lewis was Tolkien's inspiration for Treebeard's voice.
