  • @69bigpapa so a parallel 4 link is all wrong? you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

  • whoever liked this download PHUN and model these cardbord bars in the computer a very very simple way! really I recomend this program/game!

  • Yes ideally you want to angle the upper bars downwards a couple degrees to put the instant center somewhere around the front bumper of the vehicle. There are LOTS of other factors that I cant show here, i just wanted to show and outline the differences is pinion angle. Having the bars level maintains the same angle throughout , but will obviously effect instant center

  • For those asking to have a wishbone modelled, there is no need. Since this is shown in a 2D side view, a wishbone will look exactly the same as a 4 link and react the same in regards to pinion angle.

  • Hey guys, this is is actually my vid I made years ago. It is ONLY made to show the difference in pinion angle changes between link setups. Obviously there is a ton of other factors in 4 link design. This is mainly to show the drastic chnages caused by 50/50 and 2 link suspensions. a full reverse link will maintain pinion angle but reacts poorly under braking and acceleration compared to a proper forward link.

  • not sure who sings this. but thats definitely zero by smashing pumpkins originally

  • The true issue with reverse links is that they remove the force from the tires when braking.

Forward links plant the force onto the tires creating traction. Props on the video.

  • thanks.

  • gtf over it ya'll... this just showed some common setups for simple demo purposes.. if it were serious i'm sure he wouldn't have used sticks and thumb tacks...

  • all your forward setups were setup wrong man ur bars were always parallel so your pinion angle was wrong through out the travel you have to have them angled to intersect towards the front of your vehicule or your pinion angle will change too much
