Good players selected by another organization? You mean like Cliff Lee? Travis Hafner? Shin Soo-Choo? And even if you did have that little faith in the Indians' talent evaluation, you can certainly have faith in that of Theo Epstein, who has a sterling draft record: Pedroia, Youkilis, Buckholz, Lester, Papelbon, Ellsbury...

I realize you Indians fans are frustrated -- as a Knicks fan, I know all about that too. But it's not Shapiro's fault.

while all that may be true as it relates to theo's record (although i'm not sure they all we his) why, if these guys were so good and highly thought of ,would they be willing to part with them for a veteran whose best postion won't allow much more time playing that postion? victor is professional hitter but you win with pitching and mostly home grown pitching so why would the bosox do this unless they know something we don't? as you said yourself look at theos record!

If Mark Shapiro listened to idiots, such as the ones that posted this video FOUR DAYS AFTER THE TRADE (hello? Mcfly?), he'd be out of a job.

Boston got Victor Martinez for a year and a half with no title to show for it (the whole point of the trade).

Cleveland got a stud, front of the rotation pitcher for years to come, and a prospect who looks like he's on his way as well.

People have to realize that before this got Carlos Santana from the Dodgers, for Casey Blake! Yea Shapiro isn't the greatest drafter but he has alot of great trades like, Bartolo Colon for Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee and Brandon Philips (Who didnt workout with the Indains, but look what he's doing for the Reds). Thats a injury pron Pitcher for a Cy Young Winner, 3-time All Star and Phillips who made the All Star game last year (And has 2 Gold Gloves). But I'm still frustrated with the Indians.
