Earl Klugh's arrangement of "If I Only Had a Brain" I consider it a rather tough piece. I had a "brain freeze" twice over the same parts of the song. Considering the amount of time I spend on this song, stuff like that should not happen. Earl Klugh has got the touch man! He is one of my favorite players. His solo work and trio work is a must have. Check it out.
It's May 15th and it's really cold on my porch for this time of years. Hear the electric heater in the background? I still could not keep my hands warm even with the heavy pullover on. When I was a kid I could pretty much not play at all when my hand were cold; it's better now, but still does not feel good. I have not played my Seagull in many many months. It's away most of the winter. I like keeping laminated tops out only during the winter because if I have to go to a cased guitar I may not pick it up. While the Seagull Folk is not expensive, the top is solid cedar and it dings up real easy too. I have a dent in it that looks like someone chucked a dime at it like they were throwing a ninja star. How the hell that got there is beyond me. Nobody in my home is confessing.
Beautiful! I've subscribed... :)
Can I ask you something - what is the main difference between cedar and spruce tops? I'm looking into buying my first guitar, and have fallen in love with the Seagull S6, which is slightly out of my price-range. The S6 Entourage is a cedar top (while the S6 Original is spruce), and is a bit cheaper.
Do you have a preference, personally? (I notice this guitar is a cedar top, but I'm not sure about your others).
Thanks! :)

it is said cedar is a bit warming sounding and spruce a bit brighter sounding. I can tell you cedar is very soft and dings up easy.
I'd pick the S6 Original over entourage, and that is mainly because of the slightly bigger width at nut (like most seagulls @ 1.8) I don't prefer 1.72. The Entourage is smaller at nut like "regular" guitars @ 1.72 (which is 1 and 11/16's). 1.75 and bigger is becoming more popular now as guitar playing advances.
All my other guitars are cheap laminates

Great Job man.
Do you have an Lr Baggs M1 installed in your seagull? I'm considering buying an S6 Original and installing an M1 to use as my workhorse for bar gigs. I was wondering if you had any videos with the guitar plugged in I could use for reference?
Thanks a lot

I installed this and only tested it. I could not deliver a good sound to video for you because I don't have equipment to convey that to youtube. braggs stuff is known good equipment. I've read good stuff about shadow pickups too. this m1 does a good job picking up the guitar vibrations. you can adjust poll height too. Warning though... if you are going it install your self, tape body where you are going to drill and my M1 barely made it out of the guitar to tighten nut

I wouldn't be installing the pickup myself, too dangerous. your impression of the seagull with the lr baggs was that it sounded good and strong? any issues with feedback ? Thanks a lot

@TatusJones
feedback I can't speak for because my volume was not very loud (more small dinner place like), but no feedback. pickup sounded strong yes. very acoustic which surprised me a bit. I believe my braggs was "defective" as it had no numbers on volume
right now I have no amp. when I start playing out I'm going to likely use an artist level seagull folk with QII and used this seagull for backup. I'm glad I waited to buy an artist folk as now they are all solid wood.
