Tadaaa, today is my 3rd birthday on YouTube. I´d like to celebrate it by singing one of my favorite songs by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. It was kind of tricky to sing though.

Thanks to "dholm13" for the playback:

The better one comes from "SADL00KINM00N" which oops I only found today:

Here on the channel of "luvabba1974", Elaine Paige singing the original version of "When the waves roll out to sea":

The reason why I´ve opened an account here on YouTube 3 years ago, was in order to find rare videos and songs of my fave stars and to keep them in my favorite´s list. Agnetha´s Fältskog composition "I´m still alive" and the pre-version of this song were the first on my list. Later I downloaded them, as the channels where they were being uploaded kept disappearing again and again.
"When the waves roll out to sea" is an unreleased song by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, who own the copyright of it!!! I sing it to celebrate their work. The song has an interesting story. It was written, re-written again and again and has been only a demo from 1982 till 2002.
In 1982/83 Benny and Björn worked on ABBA´s album "Opus 10" which has never been released. They had one song almost finished, but not remastered. It was called "Just like that". I love it. Agnetha sang like an angel (For fans: The "nana" version is my fave). B&B took the chorus of "Just like that" and made another song from it for "Gemini" (Karen and Anders Glenmark, the background singers of ABBA) in 1985, still called "Just like that". Then they made a demo for their musical "Chess" sung by Elain Paige, by taking some parts from "Just like that", adding a new chorus and kaboom "When the waves roll out to sea" was born.
Though the song was, as I think one of their best, it
wasn´t released on "Chess" in 1984. Finally B&B have put it on the swedish version of "Chess" ("Chess på svenska-Chess in swedish") in 2002 sung by Per Myrberg. The song now is called "Glöm mig om du kan" ("Forget me if you can"). And the song is fabulous.
Still there is a tape with Agnetha singing "Just like that" and a saxophone part, that waits to be remastered. The song was re-written many times, and 30 years after ABBA´s split should be such a nice
date to release the first version of this song, that I believe could have been another hit for ABBA back in 1982. So taking a look in the future, "Just like that" is gonna be released in 2012 with Agnetha and Frida singing? Who knows. :-)

  • @ThePROTO1TYPE I blush. Thank you, thank you, thanks so much. Happy weekend. :-)

  • @BaerchenprinzBln Not being very kind - just being very honest. Credit where credit is due I always say!

  • @jazzbobrown Thank you so much. Very kind of you. Aw, I don´t change the info anymore. I also believe Opus 10 would have been an odd title for an album, but if people tag it, they might find my version. I found it so tricky to sing, but also so so beautiful and bittersweet. Thanks for listening. Greets, ΛNDЯÉ☺

  • @ThePROTO1TYPE Thank you so so much. Isn´t it a great song? I wish it would have been an ABBA song.

You´re being very kind to me. Lifting me up indeed. Thanks. Greets, ΛNDЯÉ☺
