Zucker is a tool. Giving him equal status with genuinely qualified professionals is tantamount to saying that his views are widely accepted by practicing gender therapists, which they are most certainly not.

Shame on the media for giving him a forum to preach his bigotry.

He refuses to account for sociocultural prejudices against trans people; cannot perceive anything outside the gender binary; is a biological essentialist; and simply does not listen to anyone except himself.

If anything, he's discouraging it, calling it a disorder (aka problem), and trying to remove the freedom of children to experiment with play that is uncommon to their gender. Zucker has been openly critical of parents who allow children to express gender nonconformity. He also considers transsexualism a "bad outcome". He is quite unpopular with the LGTB group. He is not making it out to be a non disorder. He says it is one.

Zucker is not "encouraging children to become a part of a small minority" by trying to DISCOURAGE transexualism. Transexuals ARE in the minority.
