First met Odetta in 1957, she played the old Dominion theatre in Winnipeg, my uncle was the impressario that brought her there. I was a junior at U.Manitoba, with the student radio club, was asked to set up the sound system for her performance. Far too live!! Had to run backstage during the first number and crank the volume way down. In actuality, that operatically trained voice needed no amplification at all.
