Pardon me if I am missing something, but I fail to see how the ending could be anything but symbolic. I mean, isn't is impossible to have Siamese twins of different ages? That wouldn't make any sense. Clearly, it is metaphorically showing that despite her sister's death, she is always with her, such to suggest that she cannot escape the guilt and regret that follows from the thought of her sister. My interpretation is that the childhood is memory that inspires the nightmare.

@lesliepha So... if you're the who doesn't get it, YOU'RE the one who's stupid. Amiright?

my interpetation starts when the story ends...they are siamese........the adult one dreams that they were normal twins...she is in love with a man that she cannot have because of her appearence...she dreams a way to kill her twin..but what she dreams is not out of hatred that's why she dreams an accident she can't bear...the father in their dream is their actual father who made them out of incest, i mean maybe their mother was his daughter or something(see dumplings, the 1st of the flicks)

It was ether a dream on both sides, because both sisters are dreaming of the same thing but different, as they stated in the end. So you could say that the whole thing is a recurring dream. They are together at first but separated by death and fire and then reunited again by death and ice. The envy of one locks the box to be her sister for a night but the reverse at the end would be the opposite (bound in the same body). However, just enjoy the movie. I loved every bit of it.

Basically in the end the whole thing turned out to be a dream & in reality they've actually been together the whole time cause they're siamese twins.

Simply they were never apart at all it is the ironic part both were dreaming simply all
