It's very simple, these trains have a much higher standard than European trains! :-) I can compare (I work for the Belgian railways), so I don't hesitate a single moment to say this! ;-) The only thing I don't like about Chinese trains is the trouble you have to go through in order to buy tickets... :-/

Yes......as a result of more people than seats :(
Hopefully, we know railway better, and we have the "channel" to buy the ticket bypassing the trouble:)

BTW.....are you the Belgium guy who travelled to China and took lot of railway pictures? I have seen some pics that quite similar as yours.
