My all time favorite R&B artist. I had the pleasure of seeing him live at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds in San Jose in 1965 along my then girlfriend now wife. Those of you from the Bay Area might remember Bob White from KDIA radio was the MC. Fantastic show.

@sixtiesrnb Your a lucky guy! I've never been to one of his concerts and can't imagine how good it must have felt to have actually played on stage with him. You must have some great memories! Respect to Wilson and you.

Mythical! !!!

No. The guitar player was Jimmy "Liston" Owens. I had the pleasure of working with him for several years back in the late 60's & early 70's.

Is that Eddie Hinton on guitar?

I was 22 when this legendary soul man released "Midnight Hour" 44 years ago back in 65 and the impact he and his great backing band ( brillant in their own right) made on me through my Transistor radio (groovy high quality sound) was to form a lasting emotional bond with the "be for real" soul sounds of Wilson, Sam & Dave, Otis, Rev Al Green and many more! And they still sound great through my Solid Gold Sixtys and seventys PA sound equipment!
