Here are some tones of this pretty cool little bass.
This particular model is a custom version with quartersawn vintage tinted neck, maple fretboard and alder body.
Action is set very low (a bit too low actually), with 100-80-60-40 aged Elixir strings and the settings you can hear are the following
- single coil, both pickups, passive mode (kind of JB like)
- dual coil, bridge PU, active with some mid boost (duck sound)
- dual coil, neck PU, passive mode (woody sound)
- dual coil, both PU, mid scoop, treble&bass boost (sorry I forgot to correct the volume for this slap part).

  • Great bass! And great playing! Did you sell your Peavey Cirrus to get this or do you still have it with the Thumb BO BN 5?

  • @lasteffect I traded the Thumb for this Sandberg (the wide neck was just terrible !).

Getting rid of y beloved Cirrus is absolutely out of the question : every other fiver I've had instantly got smashed by the Peavey (that's why I've mostly tested 4 string basses those last months).

  • @kascollet So... How long til you're back in the Wick Club again? Any Wicks you wanting back or wanting to try?

Also, are there any non-wick basses you're looking into to try?

I must say, I'd love to try a Wal or Ken Smith out... but right now, my Streamer Stage 2 fretless 5er and Thumb NT 5er keep me as happy as my Ric 4003 does. :D

  • @lasteffect : well, after having had 18 Wicks, I think I'm done with them, but you never know ! I've yet to discover the SS2 and the Katana.
