One company is master of the digital domain. Digital Domain creates special effects, animation, and other visual imagery for media such as feature films, TV commercials, video games, and music videos. The company has worked on major movies such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Day After Tomorrow. Digital Domain also makes image compositing and processing software, which it licenses to third-party visual effects firms. Company founders include Hollywood hotshots James Cameron, Stan Winston, and Scott Ross. An investment group led by movie director Michael Bay (Pearl Harbor), former Microsoft executive Carl Stork, and co-chairman John Textor owns Digital Domain, which was founded in 1993.
