@MrStrontkut Muslims ruled Spain during that time, but they stopped practising Islam and became weak, that is when we lost control of Spain!

@MegaAstrodude It's true that some "Muslim" countries today are intolerant, but hopefully things will changed after the revolutions. ;)

@MegaAstrodude How's that violent?

@7ensewlew,
Also, that small part of the documentary covers several centuries. Read the terms of the Treaty of Granada(1491). One of the terms is "That any Muslim wishing to become a Christian should be allowed some days to consider the step he was about to take; after which he is to be questioned by both a Muslim and a Christian judge concerning his intended change, and if, after this examination, he still refused to return to Islam, he should be permitted to follow his own inclination."

@7ensewlew,
No, I'm just saying an Islamic state today is more likely to resemble the second part than the first part. The historians looking back on the Moors today view them as relatively tolerant and progressive. However, the Muslims of many nations haven't changed since 711 and by today's standards are quite intolerant.

@MegaAstrodude So out of the whole documentary you chose this small, sad, part and say this is how Andalusia was? The greater portion of it talks about Muslims and non-Muslims coexisting in peace and even working together under Islamic rule. Do you think that's fair to take that small portion, that small group of people who weren't even supported by the government, and say this is how Muslims ruled Spain? I personally wouldn't call this justice.

@7ensewlew,
The second part would be the part when it starts to talk about the fall of Andalusia which starts roughly at an hour into the documentary.
