A great rendition - with an excellent arrangement. By probably the most under appreciated underrated singer of our time. From the "Live in San Francisco" album

  • I agree...Vic is one of the most underrated singers of all time.

  • Not only a beautiful singer but a beautiful person....when I was a little girl I toured USA with a children's choir "The Little Gaelic Singers" and we were on the ED Sullivan Show on the same night as Vic Damone. He was a big star and had time to come a talk to us. I will always remember that.

  • This arrangement is intentionally meant to create the confusion and sound of carnival that is just a little "off". Music doesnt have to always make you feel comfortable and that is what I think Vic is trying to do here. Its risky but technically (being a singer myself) when a musician is intentionally deviating off of the key the song is being played in it is extremely difficult for a vocalisty to stay on key and Vic never loses it. In that light his performance here is a amazing.

  • Sinatra was a bar room singer ..good ,,but Vic Damone is an "artiste"

  • never heard of this person!! i have to listen to his music and do a music report on him!!! uggghhhh!! i wish i had someone i actually heard about!! :( actually it's not so bad it could be worse

  • bellissima voce !!! bravo !

  • Brillliant perfect

  • @mmdillon1 not what i said: I liked Vic Damones voice but the piano player ruined the song if he was decent then this song would be great beacuse of Vic's voice he just needed a better piano player

  • @biden1 You may not like the pianist's arrangement (I think it's annoying, myself), but he doesn't "suck" by any means. I think Vic's superb instrument would have been appreciated more if his arrangements were less choppy and more legato, as Americans have always preferred in this genre. His weak personality on stage/in songs hurt him, also. This particular arrangement is a nightmare. It's not enough to master a great instrument (voice AND piano, in this case) -- you have to know how to use it!

  • Sinatra's versions the best..this piano player sucks Vic Damone coulda done much better
