Chapter 37- Underdog

Part 1

"No you DIDNT!" Mandys face was in shock through out the whole time, the boys were just standing there smiling and taking in her response. I was standing there too. Bored.
"You....like it?" Joe asked tentively ",cuz likeifyoudontthentotallyunderstandand pfttitsrubbishanywaysandsocrapandIdontknowwhatIwasthinking." he rambled on.
"Shut up Joe. I love it, seriously!" she gleed. "Aww, I love you guys!" she said walking up to them and giving them a big group hug which lasted like 2 mintues. And the whole time I was just standing there, like a sad, pathetic salmon. Why was I even there? I thought I should just walk out, leave them to it and stuff. So I did, I went outside and helped Aunt Denise load the stuff into the van. Frankie made me feel a little better by running up to me and clinging onto my knees.
"Ima gunna miws you Rah," he said, putting his head in between my legs, blushing. Aww, he was just too cute.
"Ima gunna miws you too Len," I said kneeing down to his height and giving him a kiss on the check. He blushed a bit and then wiped his face with the back of his hand.
"Jow said girls germ awr baaad," he said continuously rubbing his cheek. Bless him.
"Well Joe's stupid, you know if a girl gives a boy a kiss, it means she likes him very much". he blushed even more, its was like cuteness overload but then he ran off all shyly. I thought about how I would tell him about this when he grew up.

"Sarah?" I heard someone call my name, yes, it was Mr. Im-too-crazy-about-Mandy.
"What Jonas?" I spat at him as he came up to me.
"Ouch, if looks could kill," he whispered, I guess I was kinnda giving him a death look , "Whered ya go?" he asked,
"Urm....here." I said pointing to where I was standing.
"Yeah.. but why did you leave?"
"Because I didnt want to be a metal pole in a tree." I said looking down at my trainers.
"Huh?" he asked clueless.
"Dont worry, I think Ill go home now," I said as I started to walk to the road.
"Wait," he grabbed my arm. "Dont go," he said giving me his puppy face. I reluctantly made two steps back to where he was.
"What is it?" I asked, looking down again.
"You still havent heard all the songs."
"Im not in the mood," and I turned back around.
"Yes you are," he grabbed my wrist this time and dragged me in the house. I couldnt be bothered to fight back, might as well listen to all the Mandy songs and get it over and done with.
As he brought me into the living room I heard music from the CD player. It was another song, bound to be about Mandy or Maya or some other girl.
"Sit," Joe ordered and I did so. I sat there for two minutes listening to the song that was playing. I wasnt really concentrating on the lyrics or anything, just listening to the tune. Soon it finished and the tape stopped. There was nothing but silence for a few seconds. I looked up to see what was going to find that only Joe was there, at the other side of the room next to the player.
"So?" he asked.
"Where is everyone?"
"Urm...well Nicks gone with Kevin to drop Mandy off." That surprised me.
"And you didnt go?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because I wanted to know what you thought," he walked up to me and sat down next to me.
"About what?"
"About the song." I sighed. For a minute I thought he was talking about him and Mandy.
"It was good, Mandy liked it." I added emphasize on Mandy.
"I wasnt talking about that one," he said. I knew he was looking at me but I didnt want to look back at him. All of a sudden I realised the distance between us. We were sitting next to each other but it felt as if we both were on a different plant People say that true friendship lasts, no matter how far apart youve been or for how long. Well thats not true. Or is it true? Did that mean that we werent true friends? Did it mean that we no longer get each other like we did before. Neither I knew what he was talking about nor did he knew how I felt. Did we really move on?
