Vincent D'Onofrio Meet and Greet 7-22-2010

After the George Geronimo Gerkie show at Joe's Pub, those of us with VIP tickets, including yours truly, went upstairs to meet Vincent D'Onofrio. His birthday had already passed, but I gave him several gifts inside a pizza box from Mystic Pizza(yes, from the movie.) Included in the gifts were a DVD of the documentary "Yellow Brick Road" about an acting troup ANCHOR made up of actors with developmental disabilities, coloring books made by my brother who has autism, a Brooklyn Cyclones baseball cap, two guitar pins from the Hard Rock Cafe, and literature from the YAI Autism Center and the Seaver Autism Center. I gave Vincent the info. in support of his plans to direct a film about a man with Asperger's syndrome who loves Johnny Cash music, called "Johnny and Me."

It's official! Vincent is returning to "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" for eight more episodes in the tenth and final season next year. Kate Erbe is also coming back, so the dynamic duo of Goren and Eames will be solving more Major Cases before riding off into the sunset of TV reruns in 2011. Cheers!

@srvsgal Vincent is filming a movie short in New Jersey this week called "Crackers". He plays a chef who has to deal with a tyrannical mother-in-law after her husband chokes to death on a ossobucco bone. Naturally, it's a comedy! LOL

@Mees78 Hi. This was a very special experience and I'm happy to share it with my fellow VDO fans. Thank you for telling me about your brother. We siblings have got to stick together! I don't know if VIncent plans to visit Holland anytime soon, since he's busy making several films in the US and is also promoting his directorial debut, "Don't Go In The Woods". If I hear anything new, I'll let you know.

@BillieJean0902 Wow, this must have been a very special experience! And the story you've told about your brother Alberto is very special too. Actually, my little brother also has autisum and because of that, I'd love to see the movie that Vincent is making. I think it's very inspiring and I just wish I'd get to meet him some day... It's just a very small chance; I live in Holland....

@lovevdo69xxx Vincent told me he was doing the film, but he didn't say when, although I read that he would begin filming in the fall after the financing deal was done. Of course, he has several irons in the fire now, so "Johnny and Me" will still be made. I hope Vincent changes his mind about not playing the lead. I think he'd be awesome in this film!
