That Korean fighter, was very good. It actually seemed like a pretty even fight due to whitakers amazing skill level and Chil-Sungs great aggressive ability.

Yeah, it was very even. By far Pernell's toughest fight in the Olympics. The Koreans got fucked over a couple times in these '84 games (which is probably why the Koreans fucked over Roy Jones in the '88 games). So when this decision went against them, they were pissed about this one too. I personally thought Pernell edged this one out legitimately, but I can understand where they were coming from after getting the shaft a couple times before. Close fight. Really high skill level.

この1984年の話としてもし日本のアマチュアボクシング界でウ­ィテカーの3R後半のような動きをしたら注意を受けるだろう。日­本のアマチュアというのはプロを否定してるからだ。それにアマ連­盟の上層部の人間の好みのスタイルでないと勝てないような雰囲気­があった。ボクシングスタイルなんて個人差があって当たり前のは­ずなのに。さらにオリンピックの選考トーナメントはその年の全日­本選手権を兼ねているが、全日本王者になっても前年、前々年の実­績がないと代表選考から落ちてしまう事もある。さらには試合に勝­ってガッツポーズをしただけで注意を受ける。ノーガードなどのス­タイルだと審判の心象を悪くして負ける事がある。試合に勝って喜­びのあまりコーナーポストに登ったら反則負けになったなど日本の­アマチュア界は基本に忠実で礼儀正しく寡黙でないと評価されない­。

アホか。オリンピックでは金メダル1つに銅メダル2つしか取れな­弱小国だぞ。日本のアマチュアボクシング連盟は一度解散しプロの­下のアマチュアと言う所から再出発しないかぎりオリンピックで金­メダルなんて今後1000年経っても取れない。

I thought Whitaker won this fight going away. He landed nice combinations and made the South Korean miss a lot of punches.
