Jack Benny got a lot of mileage out of ribbing this song. He did a whole routine about asking Phil to explain each one of the lyrics. He did another routine out of trying to find Doo-Wa-Diddie on a Rand McNalley map.

boy mr. larkin38 you are so right I was lucky enough to have caddied for this great performer. I caddied at Cypress Point where the great Crosby was a member and he used to come up with Bing and stay for a few weeks every summer and of course in the Bing Crosby tournament too. He was a delight to be around, he would joke and quip all the way around the golf course. Us caddies would say, "and we're gettin paid for this" and he was at his best with Bing, Bing was cool as cucumber too.

Let's not forget Phil Haris as the voice of the tom cat in Disney's THE ARISTOCATS.☺

The left handed guitar player sitting up in front of the band is the famous Frankie Remley.

ooh mamma!
Phil is a forgotten show business titan. Hit shows, Jack Benny and one with his beautiful wife Alice. He is the original king of cool.

My parents saw Mr. Harris in Galveston, TX when he filled in for The Glenn Miller Orchestra. Mr. Harris dedicated this song, that night, to my mother.
