Avon Marching Black and Gold October 3, 2009

Avon High School's Marching Band swept all captions and won Gold in Class A at the Indianapolis District competition, held at Lawrence Central High School. Congratulations!

My son was at the BOA regionals this weekend, and I got to see the Avon band perform not long after his band. Until that point, I'd been watching feet, counting steps... and then Avon came on, and completely blew me out of the water. They won the competition and the division, and rightfully so. I'll be STUNNED if they don't take the Nationals. Amazing work, everyone, and thank you for all you've done this year - I know how hard those kids worked, and it's amazing to see!

Ya'll are soooo blessed. You guys have a ton of percssionists. Down at James Bowie High we're lucky to even get 6 snares. And we have like nomoney for good equipment. See ya at grand nats! Good luck guys!

I got to watch it at finals in Indy this year.

I wish my band could have been with you guys on that finals field, but plymouth canton only made it to semis.

it was really dificult to see...the guard, drumline, and pit did not even have mouth holes so we could breath but luckily the fabric was not terribleso we could breath a little but not a lot...and the fabric over our eyes in the light made a little bit of a fog...so it was hard to see the weapons especially

How did you see or play? Sorry--we never got to see you up close at nationals and I've been wondering...ha ha. Oh--and what was the theme? : D Thanks! lol
