Hey! That's Dr. Dixon! I remember meeting him over lunch why back in my undergrad days at CSULA, back in the late 70's. He was talking about the land imprinter back then!
So awesome to see his patience and diligence is now paying off!

I live in Arizona, and agree 100% with what he said about reflections upon society. The ecological policies of this state are abysmal. While schooling in Tucson, there was a debaucle where the city opted to flood large tracts of land in an attempt to resupply small portions of semi-confined aqifer. The aquifers had been creating large sink-holes due to overuse of water by the city. The project proceded despite environmentalist dissent and, of course, ended horribly...

@desertblbuesman you might take a look at joel salatin's work, you could probably adapt his techniques to rebuild the soil. there are a bunch of videos on youtube explaining how he does things

@halopa246 for far too long people have looked at nature as our enemy, overlooking the fact that it is actually our creator and provider. Our fossil records show that the only things that survive long enough to establish breeding numbers and carry on through evolving are those that work with (adapt to) the natural processes at hand. Nature only exists where elements of an ecosystem work together. Work with nature (and it with you) or you can go entirely against it... Nature serves no one.

..your comment on Dr.Dixon made me smile, never met the man, nor have I heard of him till now. It's just that I'm surrounded by people who switch their dreams so often, who have no long term goals in life, that when I read your comment it made me feel nice as well that someone is not only doing something beneficial, but fulfilling his goals through patience and hard work.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This video was totally mind blowing! It shatters the perception that we are mercy of mother nature and gives hope that with just a little help from us, mother nature can restore much of the damage we have inflicted in our shortsightedness.
This was a very good series on dryland stratagies. I am in the high plains juniper lands. The pines all died from some blight and cattle have been grazing here a long time. we are having washouts and gullying all too frequently. Does anyone know of a forum or discussions on this kind of land and improvement methods?

This is really the place for video comments and generally speaking we disencourage the use of the space as a forum. However we do have a PermaScience YouTube Group which is open for anyone to join and you may well find that some of our members may have some ideas for you.
Alternatively you could try the Permaculture Research Institutes forum, which is excellent. There is a link for their website in the description for the Greening the Desert video.
Best of Luck
