Ken Dodd and We Are the Diddymen the Diddymen being Ken Dodds invention. Diddy means little ... where diddy comes from I do not know, but it is synonymous to Ken Dodd.
They came from Knotty Ash (which is a town in Liverpool, England).
The Diddymen are Mick the Marmalizer, Nigel Ponsonby Smallpiece, Wee Hamish McDiddy; Harry Cott, Dickie Mint, Sid Short, Weany Wally and Little Evan
The Diddymen are the inhabitants of the small village of Knottyash, where they work the Jam Butty Mines, The Snuff Quaries, the Broken Biscuit Repair Works, The Treacle Wells and the Moggy Ranch. Nigel Ponsonby Smallpiece is the Owner of the Jam Butty mines, and Dickie Mint is the Foreman.
They had a television Series in the 60s and 70s

  • The word DIDDY is just a slang word for small.

  • Great stuff from Doddy. The Diddymen were great and a laugh as well. They dont make em like that anymore. Keep on rocking, Doddy

  • @Rikkyhardo It's more than possible the BBC in its wisdom erased the tapes like they did with so many other shows of the era, like Dr Who.
