If you seriously don't need more functionality then use Chrome OS. IF you want to use actual applicatiosn and not be limited by what is on the web, then use Ubuntu or your favorite Linux distro.
Gamers and professionals are stuck with Wintel/MacOS.
What is exciting is that it may one day grow and have tons of applications so that people will use it ubiquitously. Unlike Linux which is a micro distro nightmare.
