My experiences between Firefox and Chrome have been relatively similar, so I tend to switch between the two.

IE practicly waste of time.. Opera is excellent to.. i use Chriome an Opera .. together they a lot like Twin Flames the male Female umm.. archtyps .. kinda thing.. seems the more i use chrome the Faster an lighter it gets. I simply LOve Chrome!.. .. just recent i got to level of havin a lota fun buildin what feels like my own personal OS.. Cheers!.

Yes, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox tend to be pretty heavy in terms of RAM. However, they usually make up for it in power. If you can run Chrome without issues, its amazingly fast. Otherwise, you might want to consider a more lightweight browser like Opera, or (dare I say it) Internet Explorer.

Sadly, I still sometimes use a 1.7 Ghz laptop. But switching tabs has never been a problem for me when watching videos. I'm no expert but it may have something to do with RAM. Chrome takes up a lot of memory especially because each tab seems to be a process of its own.
