Some stars are born great, others have greatness thrust upon them. The stories of Gloria Swanson, perhaps the most successful actress of the silent era, and Valentino, the Great Lover, the idol of millions of women in the 20's whose private life was just the opposite, possible divorce and looming bankruptcy.
Two of the great romantic legends of the silent screen are profiled. Rudolph Valentino's on-screen persona is remarkably different from his real personal life, as recounted by his brother, Albert, and Gloria Swanson recalls her meteoric rise - and fall - with remarkable candor.

  • I love this series.

  • @epiksonik Great! EVERYBODY that see this series HAVE to like it! 8D

  • I always get slightly depressed when i see this sort of show. We will never have another time in filmaking like this. There's no more magic, or sense of adventure. Everything gets shown and overdone. It's very bittersweet. Oh well, at least we carry it on by appreciating it.

  • @ccipollini1984 I agree with every word you said. Big hug! o/

  • This is a fantastic series! Someone needs to settle all the copyright issues so it can be released on DVD!

  • @ccipollini1984 Very good observation. I'd have loved to have been involved in Hollywood when it first got going. My friend's great uncle was a very minor actor back then and I met him once when I was about 14-15. Some of the stories he told were funny and amazing. One that got my attention was how he noted that the early Hollywood actresses never shaved their armpits as it was considered natural back then for a woman to have hair there. Could you imagine that now! Lol!

  • Gloria has a lovely voice.

  • @ccipollini1984 See THE ARTIST. There is still hope.

  • Love Gloria. Deliciously nuts.

  • @mazzotka Oh... thankyou! Hope you have liked... o/

  • @rafaelmexico Thankyou for watching! o/
