those random water holes out in the middle of no where at the dunes are the biggest no no's to drive around. the wrong vibrations in the wrong spot that close to the water will literally turn the ground to soup in a split second then rock hard once it stops. i bet thats what happened to this guys hence why there doesnt look like there is much of any roost and it was perfectly sank down to the frame.

Snatch Straps: Very handy thing to have in your 4x4 if you head to Stockton.
They work on Kinetic Energy so you don't tow them out, you snatch them out..

i think it was to avoid wheel spin by driving slowly to tow it out, digging them both into the sand
