One Rembrandt painting is called "Man in Oosterse Kleding" [Man in Oriental Costume]. Some researchers and art critics believe, drawing this man is inspired by seeing MOUSA BEIG, the first Persian ambassador to Holland.

In English-language sources, another work of Rembrandt is called "The Persian". It's black and white. I should find more info. It's a very interesting thing that I am going to talk about that in my next documentary which is about Persian (Iranian) community in The Netherlands and historical relations between this country and our homeland.

The political relations between Persia and Holland was started during the Kingdom of Shah Abbas. In 1626 Mousa Beig presented his Credentials at the States-General of the Netherlands. (www.PejmanAkbarzadeh.com / www.PersianDutch.net)
