The Face (2010) - FINAL DESTINATION Fan Film (After Effects VFX Demo)

check out my blog - http://oscarknott.wordpress.com/my-films/ This film is pretty much --Video Copilot the Movie-- which is a great learning tool I have used to bring to you this After Effects short film. I also used a lot of tuts from Indy Moguls BFX with EricK Beck

It is essentially a mix of Final Destination, 2012 and the Ring. You can watch its prequals in my videos and via my blog which will give you some idea as to what its about, however this is a reboot and you dont need to have watched the others.

The shots you see have been shot on a SD-Handy Cam, edited in Premier Pro, composited and colour corrected in After Effects with Magic Bullet and FMP, also Boujou for 3D tracking was used and 3Ds max for 3D modeling and animation. It is kind of my hope to get into the AFTRS FOUNDATION DIPLOMA IN 2011 and this is something I have been working on to get in their.

It is the 4th in a series of movies.

I liked it! How'd you do the effect with the pipe at the beginning? If it's from video copilot, I must have overlooked it

@DirectorOfFate oh haha nah thats just from the first face you can see in my face playlist on my channel but basicly thats just the simplest trick in the book from Indy Moguls BFX with Eric Beck, just a pipe thats bent around the middle and goes under the shirt. Theirs a making of for the first one too that shows you in more detail

It's good, my only critique is the intro clip with the boy being impaled. It looked like such a movie-set sort of camera set-up, but in the scene, it was the news footage - why would they just record him falling down, instead of running to help? Should have made it some pseudo-amateur recording sort of thing where the camera man runs to the boy.

Other than that, it was very well put together!
