I love this version! Just watched it on Sundance and looking to own it on dvd!

Ok, some could compare this to 'Carmen Jones'...so ahead of its time, but this film, which I just saw on Sundance, which made me want to look it up online, is so different and I do agree that kids should see it, all should see it for yes, it is 'Carmen' done by people of color but these people of color! are singing in what I am assuming is Swahili or a S. African dialect and takes place in the S. African slums. Just astounding and the culture change from Europe to S. Africa, amazing.

any idea where I can download it? Can someone upload it in isohunt or pirate bay? I would be great full

This film made me cry as I watched. Sheer brilliance, even if opera isn't your thing..you gotta feel it

this is one of the best. This is very educational. I like how they used black actors and africa to adapt what is normally (original play and opera in general) a white thing. It was executed in a very good way. I want to get this and show teenagers this.. maybe kids but it is a little out there for kids

I agree. I love how they adapted to a modern South African society. I also plan to use this to teach! There are so many meaningful discussions to be had out of this!

un film magnifique passé carrement inaperçu en france. Film sublime qui à était demoli, qui plus est, par les critiques françaises. C'est inadmissible. A voir absolument. Un pur moment de grâce.

French critics - to understand their critics, one have to understand that their problem is not movie at all (too long to explain) - but just to survice inside their clan..
Je n'ai pas vu ce film - mais ce "trailer" est un des meilleurs que j'ai vu :)) un plaisir..
