I don't think you followed the instructions to make sure its properly installed before you threw it in to the pool. Its definitely water proof up to 8ft, but I think after you dropped it from 15ft the case was done after that or it was not installed right.

maybe water got inside cause you scraped it against the bottom of the pool, and the case was broken when you did the drop test. It says the "elements." it doesn't say you can combine the elements.
