Update: The Discovery Institute has quietly changed their version of the video to acknowledge that the quotation is indeed from Richard Dawkins.

The original version of the video can still be viewed here:

Original Video Description: In their twisted attempt to defend themselves against what they see as a threat to their version of Christianity, the Discovery Institute is lying to the people who visit their "faithandevolution.org" website.

  • Misquotes happen all of the time. Every newspaper has a section for corrections.

  • It's just another example of how theists demonize what they perceive as the "authority" behind evolution, in an effort to demonize the whole process. They think it's what atheists are trying to do, that atheists denying a divine creator means that they are also denying everything that came about from theistic belief. Some beautiful things have come from theism (music, art, charity), and though misguided in their authority, are valuable in and of themselves.

Oh, and reality -is- harsh. Cope.

  • wow, this seems like an honest mistake to me. Was it really worth making a whole Youtube video?

  • Keep trying to make mountains out of mole hills.

  • Creationism:

Because reading one book is a lot easier than reading a whole bunch of hard one.

  • I smiled. Savour the Irony.

  • Discovery Institute likes to misquote or incorrectly attribute quotes to Charles Darwin. Why don't they just give up.

  • "You know me, never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn"
