Le célèbre personnage de magicien créé par Lee Falk en bande dessinées devient un personnage de cinéma dans ce "serial" de la Columbia, en 12 épisodes. Un nanard sympathique, où le magicien ne ressemble pas vraiment à Mandrake (où est la moustache ?) et les tours de magie sont aussi rares que peu compatibles avec le style flamboyant du Mandrake de papier. Très drôle néanmoins et désormais disponible aux USA en DVD.

Actually there are moments of magic in the film. He does outsmart of hypnotist.

Entertaining clip. Love the old music. Thanks for posting! If magic performances are rare in that movie, this is typical of Hollywood. The comic strip Mandrake was as much a hypnotist as a magician anyway, as I recall.
