One of the problems beginners experience, is their backswing is too fast. Your backswing can be super slow and does not change your power or accuracy, so practive pausing at the top of your swing.
The other mistake is "jabbing" at the ball, whereby you pull out of that follow through. Therefore you are relying on your hand speed to generate ball speed.
I am a professional golfer. Watch her left arm and notice how that arm stays straight in the backswing and the follow through which is a little harder for a woman than a man. But that straight arm with a full shoulder turn is the basic fundamental to power and accuracy.
many thanks I've been watching this with my oldest son aged 6. Very easy to follow and very effective. His swing is coming on well. Hope you like my video response.
This is a brilliant video!! Is this the same for the driver?
I can't seem to swing consistent with my driver. At times, I'll be at the range and the ball flies...I get to the course, and it's like I haven't EVER swung the club.
I began the summer in the mid 100's. Mid summer, I broke 100 (averaged mid to low 90s). I even broke 90 twice!!!! For me to be consistently in the 80s, my driving needs to be more consistent, getting more FIRS. Chipping and putting are fine. HELP!
@TheNYgolfer Come on - that is not a nice comment. She is a great teacher.

Some good things in this video but
why are the divots and the balls flying way right of where she is aiming?

I wish I'd seen this 10 years ago. Drag the handle past the ball and trust the club to get to the ball by gravity alone.
Great, thanks.
