Such a beaautiful song. So "real" and honest. As a "Gemini" this certainly goes along with my seeing both points of view on any given situation, whether I like the truth of it or not, lol. Just adore John Denver..his gorgeous voice and equally gorgeous songs. A lovely posting and great to view as a video and hear, musically. K xx

Thanks so much for this FAR OUT video.....Very well done... This one helped me to get out of a relationship that had lasted far too long....

Yes you are correct. 2 people hang on and on for the sake of kids maybe...or a mutual business. Each day they are falling apart and going to bed with an empty feeling at night. My ex and I email every day now and put aside the anger and resentment and grit our teeth if the other brings up the other's new partner etc.

Perhaps he was. But anyway he left us a great song anyway.
Cheers

Love is always there even if the relationship isn't. We've got deep seated feelings as we have a daughter who is 5 almost. I live in Asia and my daughter in South Africa. Yes there's no answer other than to love when love is real and bow out gracefully when it ends. You from Ireland? I'm originally from the Isle of Man! Cheers for the gorgeous song!

I can understand the anger, hurt and resentment when a relationship breaks up, its only natural but I've known people who think they have the right to destroy the life of the one who has left by not allowing them to see the children etc etc. You and your ex are mature in the way you both have handled it and your little girl can only benifit from this. Well done to you both. Yes I'm Irish. Thank you for taking the time to reply with such honesty. :-)

Will not be over "annie-lytical" like some lol but....I'm 27 and on my second marriage. I'm a guy and totally get his message. The "reality" of a divorce is far more complex and soul destroying than any 3 minute song could capture...He was brave to sit and think on the subject for long enough to give us this beauty of a song...Though I'm sure if he was more agressive the song would have been called "different dissections" JD fans will get it....lol

I wish you the very best of luck in your second marriage. You say the reality of divorce is soul destroying .. this I understand.. but is it not also soul destroying to both people to stay in a relationship that is not working ? I guess there is no easy answer.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe your videos. Not a miss in any of them.
BTW,when John was writing this song, he and Annie were going through some real marital difficulties. In one instence when he was talking about the song, he said he was using her as a sounding board about it and she asked him, "Are you trying to tell me something?"
Iloved the musical quality of this tune from the first time ever hearing it. Shed the lyrics and it's still one of the best John ever wrote.

Thank you very much for your kind words. There is so much in this song that it was quiet difficult to put images to. Its also a subject very close to my heart.
