Since god is made up by man, not woman, books that men wrote to provide "his" word naturally reflect their historic ability to subdo women. Even original sin of all mankind is woman's fault -- remember Eve? Pagan godess-based religions placed nuturing women as the diety. Early Christiananty worshoped Virgin Mary -- Remeber her? But the Christian church decided to do away with that practice, and in fact Jesus's brothers and sisters as well. That's religion for you.
