Because the his own car won't let him see the lights, he probably wouldn't even notice.

@TheSuperBlackMan The other thing here in the UK is red traffic light cameras. People have been forced through red lights and sent a ticket. They still have to pay and get points on their licence, even if the very next photo is an emergency vehicle. Your are guilty of the offence, so people will not move now. It's dangerous anyway. Some emergency drivers get a thing known as "red mist", all common sense goes out of the window as they want to answer the emergency as fast as possible.

u cant push a car through a red light, dangerous & ill advised,

Even if is siren is not on it is a law for motorist to move over whilst the blue lights are flashing.
NOPE

Looks like the taxi was at a red light. Had to wait until the light turned green. What do you expect the taxi to do?
-
the ambulance driver should use the sirens if he is in a hurry..

prob not an emergency, there are a lot of countries where the emergency services for some reason sit with the blue lights on at all times... stupid i know, but thats what they do.

Looking at the level of the lights on the ambulance, the taxi may not know that they are actually on. The grill lights are below his boot and the roof lights are way in the air. :)

it is not a real emergency
Thanks for your comment mlps93, I appreciate your comment, laws are different in different places, I work for ambo in NSW Australia. Australian law very strict on emergency vehicles here, even on emergency if we go 40klm over speed limit we get a please explain, forcing cars thru red light a strict no no, if we hit a car all hell breaks loose and if we do get charged the ambo service will not back us up, we are on our own, including costs, demerit points etc, nice to be supported so much much eh

I am an ambo. We are still subject to traffic rules even in emergencies. We are allowed to exceed the speed limit etc but if we have an accident we can still be held responsible if shown we were negligent. In this instance the ambo cannot force the taxi through a red light. If the taxi were to hit a pedestrian the ambo could be charged. He should also have his lights off as the driver may be intimidated and drive thru the red light. I know it sounds odd but its in the interests of safety

@philpara1
not sure what country ur in, but ur law is not the law of the world
here it is ok to force thru red light when the pedestrians stopped
and lights must remain on at all times when on a shout (emergency call) unless ur the police
