Jonah pinches his forearm with his feet, and then injects it with Novolog insulin.

Transcript:Hey youtubeland. It took me a while to figure out how to do a fore arm inject so I thought I'd show you all.
First of course is the normal steps of injecting insulin. Screwing on the needle. Ahhh...(sound of needle turning). Taking off the cap.And air. Nothing seems to be coming out, 'nother half unit.Tada, finally we have insulin. Okay. Aaaand, then I'm inje- I'm dialing up to the number of units that I'd like to inject. Um, let's see. I had two cups of soymilk (click click click click) and what else did I have for breakfast? Hmm. Oh! And cake (click click click click). And two pretzels. Alright! Um, and then I'm going to inject my fore arm. Let me give you some music while I do that (the Elevator Song plays for 70 seconds). Alright, um. I think I accidentally hit a muscle there. One of the reasons that I'll only inject Novolog into my fore arm is that there's not a whole lot of fat there. And if you hit a muscle, it's a lot better to be hitting it with Novolog than Lantus. It's short acting anyways. It doesn't hurt much- any site you don't inject much doens't hurt much. Uh, I was motivated to do it 'cuz all my other injection sites hurt so much. Uh, if you're having absorption issues this is also not a bad choice. Um, this one did bleed. They haven't usually. Um, usually a site I haven't injected much doesn't hurt as much. And I was pinching with my feet, I'm not sure you could see that. Alright, good luck trying it yourselves.

  • My endo agrees that it works; my CGMS shows my blood sugar drop; sticking with only one site (ie the tummy) is bad practice. Aside from which, I just had surgery on my tummy and can't inject there. It does not take long to absorb from my forearms, I promise.

  • WTF is he saying.

WTF is this for bad quality vid.

    WTF !!!???!?!

  • Yeah, the sound does seem to be gone. Maybe I'll redo the video. It's mostly a demonstration of how I used my feet to pinch my forearm in order to inject. Like all of the words at the side say.

  • dude you should try shooting heroin into your forearm!

  • 1. I'm not into endangering my life for no good purpose.

    2. The above is a subcutaneous injection, hopefully, or an intramuscular injection at worst. A heroin injection is meant to be intravenous, which is a different ballgame entirely.

  • regardless of what he's shooting this is just rediculous..if ppl really want to know, they will seek a physicians instruction...come on dude...seriously???

  • So what were you searching for if your dr tells you everything? I figured this out myself. My doc said it was okay, but that was after the fact. Most people's doctors do not spend a whole lot of time with them.

  • @bigtexx49 you can do your arms, inner thighs, etc.

basically anywhere that has fat :P

  • well at least your brave to try other places , i usually stick my tummy

  • I am type 2, and use insulin "R" and "N". Test 6 times a day, and use glucophage. I inject mostly in my belly w/ N, but with R most of the time my shoulder or sometimes hip. This is the first time that I have ever heard of injecting in the lower arm, but I am still learning. I have had a few bruses from injection in my tummy, so I try to just use other parts. though one time my thigh went numb after using my "N" Thanks for sharing this very personal struggle.

  • Lantus, Yes, it's not a good idea to stick to one injection site. That is why diabetics who inject should practice site rotation. Hard to see anything, video quality is terrible.

  • Dude, don't shoot rapid acting into your arm, only your tummy. Lantus/NPH etc can be shot in your tummy, thighs, upper arms, or butt. Anywhere else take's so long to absorb, it defeats the purpose of shooting up at all.

Seriously dude... you're giving bad advice and doing it poor quality. You really should take this down.

  • never tried that before!
