Ferrara has been putting out FDNYs special units for years-for example, the original high pressure pumpers, collapse rescues, satellites.

@NeiLB7 My dept has a 2006 Ferrara engine and an 07 rma 107 They really do suck.We have had our engine and ladder out more than our 91 seagrave and 96 simon duplex.

Ferrara does in fact put some JUNK out there. We have a 2005 pumper and its been full of problems since it left the factory.  Even had problems on the way home. And their warranty people SUCK!!!!! Charlie Grimes is the person in charge of that. They promise they'll send service techs to fix and they never show up. I have the email correspondence to prove it. Instead we had to get it fixed ourselves and pay for all the screw ups. NEVER AGAIN. Sorry for FDNY.

That is a spartan gladiator chassis, and as january 2011 all 5 rescue companys will have ferrara rigs by 2012 and they are also producing the new ladder trucks and a few of the high pressure pumpers,seagrave lost the fleet contract the city has had nothin but trouble with the seagraves. i got the info from a few guys i know on rescue 1 and by one of the rescue batt chiefs.
