@TheRealJamDawg---CONT...so obviously there was no deal anymore with the indians after they got a new stadium so he couldnt say no to somthing that was no longer avalible. Modell in the mid 80's was telling the city of clevland that he wanted a new stadium or he would leave. he waited nearly 15 years later before he actualy moved. this is the cities fault, not Modells.
@TheRealJamDawg--"Modell told them NO and told them to go ahead with the Rock Hall. I saw him admit this in an interview about a year or two before he announced the move" I dont like to call people liars but thats a lie. the R@R HOF had not been started to be built till 1994. the Indians new stadium started to be built in 1992.
@TheRealJamDawg--this is stevesmith890011. actualy The NFL didnt want him to move. so they wouldnt lie about anything. and yes I know there was a project for all three teams to use the same building but Modell seen what 2 teams did to a stadium what do you think would happen to it if 3 teams where all using it?
@stevesmith890011 That's what Modell and The NFL would have you believe. Art Modell was in fact offered a Stadium in the Project that brought about The Building of new facilities for The Indians and The Cavs. Modell told them NO and told them to go ahead with the Rock Hall. I saw him admit this in an interview about a year or two before he announced the move. It's Obvious that Modell was planning the move since at least the early 90's.
@domirules28--- it was either move the team or go bankrupt because he spent all his money just to keep the stadium standing so they can have games. what would you do? move and go bankrupt and loose the team? if you say the latter you are lying!
nobody is forced to do anything, and yes in my eyes modell stomped on the hearts of the people that made him who he is....just like bill bidwell did to st louis, and georgia frontiere did to los angeles....
@domirules28--he didnt stomp on there hearts. he was basicaly forced out by the city of clevland beacuse instead of helping him get a new stadium they built the rock and roll HOF, the indians a new stadium, and the cavs a new areana. those where the last straws and he HAD to leave clevland. even he said "those are my people". he didnt want to leave the city but he HAD to. how do you not get that?
