I totally agree. I still remember hearing Zhukov in Wigmore Hall in London a few years ago. Memorable concert with Chopin and Scriabin's respective 2nd and 3rd sonata. Actually, the only time I ever heard the 2nd sonata live performed really good. Usually the second movement tends to be a big mess...

Very nice understanding of this piece. I think you have all the underpinnings and it comes off very musically. Maybe a bit more polish of details and you will have a truly fantastic performance.

I agree. Scriabin's piano rolls are a revelation. Everyone knows how unreliable piano rolls are, yet that is all we have of Scriabin, except for the memories of his playing filtered through his students and associates who did record. I believe that igor Zhukov's complete sonata recordings on a German label are the closest interpretations I have heard to Scriabin's piano rolls.

Yes, it is truly a pity that Villa had to leave us while still so young and with so few recordings available. However, it is a matter of opinion whether he gets as much out of Scriabin as Horowitz. I find myself returning to the Russian pianists over and over (Horowitz, Neuhaus, Sofronitsky, Zhukov, etc.) for Scriabin, just seems to be something in their blood.

That was beautiful playing, reminded me of Sofronitsky's playing of the op32 no1, and i regard him as the greatest of Scriabinist's. Scriabin's music expresses the inexpressible emotions of life. Would love to hear you play more Scriabin.

ah c'est bien j'aime beaucoup il y a une nocturne que j'aime c'est la nocturne op 55 N 1 . Oui je joue du piano mais je débute moi je n'ai que quelques mois de piano et j'ai juste un piano numérique j'ai pas la place pour piano et les voisins seraient pas heureux ;) alors j'espere que je pourrais te rencontrer un jour moi j'habite en banlieue parisienne

da kanieshna ya otshen liubiu Chopina. Kakda ya bila v moskve v etam gadu ya sigrala fantaziu chopina na koncerte. Ya ni zhivu w Parizhe, no maya semia tam zhiviot, paetamu ya tshasta tuda paidu.Ti na fortepiano igraesh? /olivia
