Lithuania declared this year as one of remembrance for the country's holocaust victims. But that doesn't include focusing on the brutality the people endured under the Nazis. As RT's Paula Slier reports, it's trying to sue the survivors instead.

  • everyone remembers the people who are criminals and Jew-shooters

But why does not remember the people who rescued Jews and hide them, risking the destruction of his family??

  • And also while looking at those cases came across ones where israel refused to extradite war criminals, 1 to poland where Salomon Morel killed 1500 prisoners in a soviet death camp on the grounds that he was old/ill, it was too long ago. Another was Nachman Dushanski who murdered Lith opposition to the soviets, refused as Lith didnt prosecute others accused by Dush. (who were either dead or too young to have done it). Both extraditions were also refused because apparently they were antisemitic

  • Sorry for being boring...but looked into some of the cases listed that the Lithuanians have refused to prosecute, such as the garage incident, there the one forcing a hose down the throat apparently was Jozefas Vaitkiavichus the guy killing jews with an iron bar was called Juozas Luksha, both were executed by the soviets. Havent been able to track down the rabbi, but in the other 2 rather hard for lithuania to prosecute as they have already been executed....

  • Keep looking at this, which is weird as Im not Jewish and Im not Lithuanian, but.... Another statement that was slightly misleading was that Lithuania hadnt prosecuted anyone for the jewish holocaust. Soviet authorities in Lithuania opened 1400 cases and executed 297 Lithuanians for nazi war crimes in Lithuania, however they were classed as crimes against "soviet citizens" not the jews..so technically is sort of right and of course because lithuanian independance was 1992....but weak argument

  • @2romout well done on being able to speak the language btw (assuming you arent Lithuanian, though even then it is no wonder they all seem to speak 2-3 other languages as compared to their own anything else must be child's play), I only managed to pick up a few words and didnt even attempt to write it, found all the variations a complete nightmare from hell.
