  • @JosephKrammer I don't know where you're getting this from? The sewers doesn't lead directly into the rivers/oceans (at least not where I'm from), but to a sewage facility where the liquid stuff is separated from the solid stuff. The solid stuff is transported to a landfill while the liquid stuff is cleaned chemically/biologically until it fulfills certain requirements before it's pumped out into a river/ocean.

  • Here is something I learned long time a go: toilets and sewer systems are ONLY an extension of your rectum. The difference between taking a dump in the toilet and a river is that the first makes people feel "cleaner", "better", "educated", and so on. I DO NOT agree with people defecating on the open air, though. The best option IN MY OPINION are septic tanks to let the bacteria naturally decompose your feces into the soil.
