Farmington is Redefining the Liberal Arts - Part 1

The University of Maine at Farmington, Maine's state-supported liberal arts college, has earned national acclaim for its academic quality, offering the educational experiences typically found only at selective private liberal arts colleges. We believe a high-quality liberal arts education should not be a privilege just for the wealthy. An affordable, rigorous and relevant liberal arts education should be available to any student who is up for the academic challenge. We offer more than 30 majors, in areas such as the Natural and Physical Sciences, English and the Humanities, the Social Sciences and Entrepreneurship, Teacher Education and Computer Science, Health and Human Services and in Pre-Professional areas. And all of them have at their core a solid foundation in the Liberal Arts. In fact, the Liberal Arts is found in everything we do here, in every major. It's who we are.
