Radio Stars on Parade was an old style musical from 1945 in which the music was everything and the plot only served to underscore the music. Frances Langford, with that warm and rich voice had been singing with Tony Romano a long time by 1945. Through the entire war. They had become like hand in glove through years of entertaining the troops with Bob Hope in the USO. Romano, who was the only 'orchestra' of 'the Four Gypsies" was often called one of the greatest accompanists in the business. He also arranged this song for her delicious voice; and, as he did throughout the war years, sang harmony with her and played exquisite accompaniment to highlight her smooth, sweet, luscious sound. You can see how comfortable she is in his hands.
Don't believe everything you dream,
Your imagination may be too extreme.
If you should ever dream that I could love another,
Just let it go in one dream and out the other!
Don't believe everything you see;
If you dream that someone's making love to me,
Wake right up and count to ten,
And never dream that dream again!
Don't believe everything you dream,
Darling, just believe in me!
Oh... Don't believe everything you dream,
Darling, just believe in me!

Absolutely delightful movie! Every frame is just a delight. No padding here, every word means something. And oh what a performance from Miss Langford! Is there any singer any where from anytime that is so smooth, so vibrant, so elegant and so confident without being cocky? We can thank the man with the guitar, Tony Romano, for helping her reach such lofty heights.. And by the way, she's kinda cute too!
