One of the goals for this project is to get the back all cleaned up and looking decent. Bob and I are going to grind off the rust and get it prepped for rust protection and a good repaint. It's definitely seem some abuse and has a good deal of surface rust. Amazing that is all it really is... just surface rust. It's better to stop that now then wait til later or just paint over it. The Pinzgauer will be pretty awesome once we finish that project. And it will be all black inside the tub!!!!!!

  • @cavecricket Cool I'll give it a try. We already finished striping most everything off... that bottom part was THICK

  • Try using a 3 or 4 inch wire brush cup-wheel on your grinder, you will like the results a lot better. It will get into the low spots without taking off good steel.

  • @frankfugazi I'm doing my best to dust into the steel as lightly as possible. I realized when I started on it that it is nice high grade stuff and is darn near rust free. However, it looks like the paint jobs were accomplished by dumping whole 5 gallon buckets down the back....

  • Looks nice but i hate to see any of that austrian steel go to waste.
