Why didn't the writers include Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley aka Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn's best friend. Unlike most villain team-ups, their partnership seems to be genuinely rooted in friendship, and Ivy sincerely wants to save Harley from her abusive relationship with the Joker. Ivy sympathizes with Harley, as Harley is mistreated by the man she loves. :(

@batmanownsyourass DC Comics nixed the use of any of the major DC characters, and the writers could only reference minor ones. The Warner Bros. movie division told the TV division hands off Batman and the Joker. The TV division had them shoot on the Warner lot instead of Toronto, which limited the scope of what they could do. Stories with non-meta villains were vetoed. The writers were exiled from the set and the production offices.

@batmanownsyourass The REAL Truth behind that failed Birds of Prey series was that Warner Bros. hated Oracle/Batgirl being in a wheel chair and wanted to push the younger Huntress character to attract the young adult audience. The writers didn't know what to do with the Dinah character, since she didn't have any super physical abilities, and they debated writing her out of the series.

@batmanownsyourass FYI: I watched an episode or two of this series when it first came on TV and hated it. Fast forward to NOW and I picked up the entire series, feeling maybe I didn't give it a fair shake. I watched EVERY episode. And now I can tell you with certainty that it is terrible. I don't care about the liberties taken with the characters. And I LOVE the characters. I own most of the comic series.

@Shadowhawk28 That's your question? Not something like, why didn't the writers look at more than a character roster when making this series? Why did they use a wrapped version of Helena Wayne, who is called Helena Kyle in this show and she has super powers? Why did they give Oracle some freaky robot legs? Why did they make this show?
